The verb asseoir in the imperative

The imperative form of the verb s’asseoir is used to invite or ask someone to sit down. The imperative is the present tense without a subject. The verb asseoir (to sit) or s’asseoir (to sit down) can be conjugated in two different ways in the imperative mode:

assois-toi
assoyons-nous
assoyez-vous
s’asseoir
assieds-toi
asseyons-nous
asseyez-vous
- Je peux m’asseoir ? - Je vous en prie, asseyez-vous/assoyez-vous. -Can I sit down? -Go ahead, sit down.
