What's the weather like?
To ask for information about the weather, you can say:
What is/What's the weather like?
How is/How's the weather?
To answer these questions and give information about the weather, use these structures:
- To describe the weather in general: it is To be, present simple tense + adjective (sunny, cold, warm, etc.)
It is sunny today.
- To describe how the weather is at the time of speaking: it is + -ing form (raining, snowing, hailing, etc.)
It is raining.
Note: when you talk about the weather, you can often create adjectives with the structure noun + y.
the wind → It is windy.
the rain → It is rainy.
