Verbs ending in -gliere, like scegliere (to choose), cogliere (to pick), togliere (to remove), etc., have irregular past participles, but they're similar to one another in that they all end in -lto.

  • Scegliere: scelto (chosen)
  • Cogliere: colto (picked)
  • Togliere: tolto (removed)

These irregular participles are used in the same way as regular past participles.
