The plural of compound nouns

Reminder: the plural is formed with the endings -s, -es and -ces.

Un coche → Unos coches

A car Some cars

El amor → Los amores

Love Loves

Una vez → Unas veces

Once, One time →  A few times, Some times

Compounds of two or more nouns form their plural by changing the first noun:

El fin de semana → Los fines de semana

The weekend → The weekends

Una estrella de mar → Unas estrellas de mar

A starfish → Some starfish

Un año luz → Unos años luz

A light year → Some light years
