The verbs sein and haben

The verbs sein (to be) and haben (to have) are irregular. This is how they are conjugated in the present tense:

sein en
ich bin
du bist
er/sie/es ist
wir sind
ihr seid
sie/Sie sind
haben en
ich habe
du hast
er/sie/es hat
wir haben
ihr habt
sie/Sie haben

Ich bin 32 Jahre alt.

I am 32 years old.

Anna ist Ärztin.

Anna is a doctor.

Ich habe Hunger.

I am hungry (literally "I have hunger").
