Irregular verbs in the conditional tense: verbs that take double r
Some verbs such as rimanere (to stay), venire (to come), tenere (to keep), volere (to want), bere (to drink) and valere (to be worth) are irregular in the conditional tense. They are conjugated by adding rr and adding the appropriate conditional ending, as follows:
Terrei volentieri il tuo cane se avessi un giardino.
I would willingly keep your dog if I had a garden.
Se la tua auto fosse più grande, verrei con te.
If your car were bigger, I would come with you.
Vorrei consultare un esperto.
I would like to consult an expert.
