Making comparisons
To make a comparison between adjectives and adverbs, we use plus, moins, aussi ... que (more than / less than / as [big] as).
Superiority (+)
Julio est plus drôle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vélo plus souvent que toi.
Julio is funnier (more funny) than Antonio; I cycle more often than you.
Julio is funnier (more funny) than Antonio; I cycle more often than you.
Inferiority (-)
Julio est moins drôle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vélo moins souvent que toi.
Julio is less funny than Antonio; I cycle less often than you.
Julio is less funny than Antonio; I cycle less often than you.
Equality (=)
Julio est aussi drôle qu’Antonio ; Je fais du vélo aussi souvent que toi.
Julio is as funny as Antonio; I cycle as often as you.
Julio is as funny as Antonio; I cycle as often as you.
To make a comparison between nouns or verbs, we use plus, moins, autant (de) ... que (more than / less than / as much/many as).
