Personal pronouns with prepositions

After a preposition (con, per, di, etc.), we use special “stressed” forms of pronouns.

Pronomi personaliPronomi con preposizione
ioa me
tuper te
lui/leicon lui/lei
noisecondo noi
voianche voi
loroda loro

Only two pronouns actually change: io (I) changes to me (me) and tu (you) changes to te (you).

Potete andare senza di me.

You can go without me.

Questo regalo è per te.

This gift is for you.

Note: pronouns sometimes change after other words too, but no pronouns ever change after the words anche (also, even) and persino (even, just).

Persino io lo capisco.

Even I understand it.

Dovresti venire anche tu.

You should also come.
